Autumn is here and the nights are drawing in… which means that Halloween is just around the corner! If you are looking for a bit of Halloween fun for you and the kids, here are some of the best Halloween events in Sussex this year.
Rogate Pumpkin Patch – Open 13th -29th October
Rogate is a family run pumpkin farm and magical pumpkin-themed outdoors event. Your entry ticket transports you into a wonderful world of everything spooky and pumpkin. Families and visitors of all ages return year after year for a fun-filled day with memories to cherish. Complete your visit by picking your pumpkins from a spectacular array of colours and sizes, conjuring up everything from munchkins to monsters for you to take home and carve more wonderful fun together.
Amberley Museum – Halloween Evening– 28th October -6.30pm-9pm
Go on a ride on the ghost train and look out for what is lurking in the woods! Discover the 36-acre Museum after dark with all exhibits open for exploring 6 pm – 9 pm.

Enjoy autumn’s crisp colours at Amberley Museum this October half term!
Explore the site with the seasonal family trail. From Wednesday to Friday there will be hands-on leaf printing activities for children of all ages from 11am-3pm. There will also be some Halloween craft activities.
Weald & Down Museum – Horrible Tasks of the Past - October half term – 21st October to 29th October
There will be some spooktastic activities happening at the museum this half term!
Activities include:
Creepy Creatures and Superstitions Witches Broom Trail – Saturday 21 to Sunday 29 – Are you brave enough to seek out the broomsticks to uncover the superstitions about rats, bats, spiders and other scary creatures through time?
Frightful Folklore Stories – Monday 23, Wednesday 25 and Saturday 28 – Knock, knock. Who’s there? Join in for chilling tales and spooky stories with storyteller Dawn Nelson
Potions and poisons – Monday 23 to Friday 27 – Join the medieval apothecary to mix up dragons blood and other revolting recipes to fend off the plague and other gruesome diseases.
Knucker the Dragon’s Nature School – Tuesday 24, Wednesday 25 and Thursday 26
Join in at the Creation Station to make a pop-up fright night theatre and spider decoration and enjoy a bit of big web weaving. At the Investigation Station discover traditional methods to protect your home from thunder, lightning and ghostly spirits, find out about superstitions from around the world and learn how spiders and other creepy crawlies have been given a bad name. Discover your animal spirit being and play the Good Luck, Bad Luck and Good versus Evil Knucker the Dragon games at the Games Station.
Washbrook Farm – October Half Term
Washbrooks Family Farm has everything you need, indoor play areas, outdoor play areas, pedal tractors to ride on and plenty of opportunities to get up close to farm animals. This year’s Halloween Half Term event includes a ‘Spot the Scarecrow’ competition
Fishers Farm Park Halloween Happy Hauntings 21 Oct - 29 October
Make no bones about it, Fishers Farm Park’s Halloween Happy Hauntings is a fun family day out that puts the fang in fang-tastic!

Jump aboard the Fishers Express train; come and give the cute farm animals some warm and friendly cuddles in the Animal Encounters Barn; or dare to take the leap from the high jump at Skyfall.
